Can I exit early?

Yes. You can sell a position at any moment before the market is resolved. There are two ways.

Sell now

  1. Open the market.
  2. Go to the Positions tab.
  3. Next to your position you see the best offer right now. Select Sell.

The best offer comes from other traders first, then from the market maker pools that cover that market. Whoever pays the most buys your position, and the ANYONE is sent to your wallet in the same transaction.

List it at your price

Select List for sale and set the price you want. Your position goes on the market's exit list until someone buys it, you cancel the listing, or it expires:

  • Any trader can buy it directly.
  • A new position on the same outcome can take it instead of entering fresh.

While it is listed you cannot sell it elsewhere. If it does not sell, it stays yours and is paid normally at resolution.

The price

A position's value comes from the market: its chance of winning and what it would be paid if it won. Market makers buy at that value minus their discount. Traders can pay up to that value, so a listed position usually sells closer to it.

A position is worth more the earlier it was taken: the buyer gets it as it is, including its rising-floor credit. See PMM V2: the market engine.

A sold position does not keep its rebate: that stays with traders who hold to the end.

Selling is not guaranteed

If nobody is buying and no market maker pool has room, the button shows No offer right now. You can list it, try again later, or hold it until the market resolves.

If you hold
