Fees and the burn
The fee
Every position pays a 1% fee, shown in the summary before you confirm. It is taken from the amount you enter:
| You enter | Fee | Your position |
|---|---|---|
| 100 ANYONE | 1 ANYONE | 99 ANYONE |
There are no other fees to take a position, claim a payout or claim a refund. ANYONE pays the network fees.
Where each fee goes
Fees stay in the market until it is resolved. Then the market contract burns 25% and splits the other 75% on-chain:
| Share of each fee | Goes to |
|---|---|
| 25% | Burned: removed from the ANYONE supply for good |
| 26.25% | The market makers that served the market, by how much each one absorbed |
| 18.75% | The market's creator |
| 18.75% | The ANYONE protocol |
| 6% | Rebate to every trader who held a position to the end |
| 3.75% | The referrer, when the position came through a referral |
| 1.5% | The market's resolver |
Every trade burns ANYONE
A quarter of every fee is burned. The more markets are traded, the more ANYONE leaves the supply.
Shares that have to be earned
- Market makers earn their share by buying positions from traders who exit early. The full share needs the pools to absorb at least 5% of the market's volume; below that they earn the matching fraction. See Market makers.
- The referrer share is paid only on positions that came through a referral.
Anything nobody earned goes to the protocol. The burn and every other share stay the same.
The rebate
The rebate goes to every position held until the market resolves, winning or losing, in proportion to what it paid. Positions that were sold, and positions bought from other traders, do not get it. If the market was sponsored, part of the sponsorship is added to the rebate.
Cancelled markets
If a market is NUKEd, nothing is burned and no fees are kept. Every position gets its principal back, plus its share of the fees the market was holding. See NUKE and refunds.
