Resolution
Resolving a market means recording its winning outcome on-chain. After that, winners can claim.
How markets are resolved
Every market on ANYONE is resolved automatically by the ANYONE resolution service:
- When the market ends, the service reads the prices it needs from Coinbase Exchange.
- It applies the market's written rule, for example "Yes only if Bitcoin's % change is strictly higher than Ethereum's".
- It sends the result to the market contract from an approved resolver address. The market is resolved and claims open.
Races are resolved shortly after they end.
The price source
ANYONE uses Coinbase Exchange as its only price source. Before an asset is listed, its USD pair on Coinbase Exchange and its 24-hour trading volume are checked.
| Market | Prices used |
|---|---|
| Daily race | Both assets' USD prices at the race's open and close; the winner is the higher % change |
Ties
A tie never counts as a win for the first asset: the same % change resolves No.
Who can resolve
Only resolver addresses approved in the factory can resolve a market. The resolver earns a small share of the market's fees. See Fees and the burn.
If a market cannot be resolved correctly
If the price data for a market is missing or a market cannot be resolved by its rules, the market can be NUKEd and everyone is refunded. See NUKE and refunds.
